1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Little Champ Swim School website and your participation in swimming lessons and programmes offered by Little Champ Swim School (“we,” “us,” “our”), located at 30 Truro Road, New Redruth, Alberton, 1449.

By enrolling your child in our programmes, submitting an enquiry or registration form, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Use of Website

Our website is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate enquiries and registrations. All content — including text, images, logos, and design — is the intellectual property of Little Champ Swim School and may not be reproduced without our prior written consent.

3. Enquiries and Registration

Submitting an enquiry or pre-registration form does not automatically confirm your child’s enrolment. All registrations are subject to availability of a suitable class, a brief assessment to determine the correct class placement, and acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry.

4. Swimming Lessons

4.1 Class Placement

All new students are assessed before being placed in a class. Placement is based on age, ability, and water confidence. We reserve the right to move a student to a different class level if we believe it better serves their development and safety.

4.2 Class Sizes

Our maximum class size is 4 to 6 students, ensuring individual attention for every child.

4.3 Programme Calendar

Lessons run throughout the year. We remain open during most school holidays and close only for the month of July, on public holidays, and from mid-December, reopening in January in line with school terms.

4.4 Progression

Students progress through our programme levels at their own pace. Progression is not guaranteed within a fixed timeframe and depends on individual development, attendance, and water confidence.

5. Parent / Guardian Responsibility

5.1 Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their child arrives on time, prepared, and appropriately equipped for lessons (swimming costume, cap, towel).

5.2 Parents are welcome to observe lessons from our designated viewing area. No parent or guardian may enter the pool deck during lessons without express permission from an instructor.

5.3 Little Champ Swim School is not responsible for the supervision of children outside of their scheduled lesson slot. Children must be collected promptly at the end of their lesson.

6. Health and Medical Disclosure

6.1 You are required to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or physical limitations that may affect your child’s participation in swimming lessons.

6.2 Children must not swim if they are unwell, have a fever, are on antibiotics, have an active ear infection or open wound, or have had vomiting or diarrhoea within 24 hours of the lesson.

6.3 In the event of a medical emergency, we will contact your emergency contact and, where necessary, summon emergency services. By enrolling your child, you consent to emergency medical treatment being sought where we are unable to reach you timeously.

7. Payments

7.1 Swimming lessons are charged on a monthly fee basis covering all scheduled lessons within that calendar month. Fees are due at the beginning of each month.

7.2 Fees are subject to annual review. Please contact us directly for current fee information.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

8.1 If you wish to withdraw your child from lessons, please provide a minimum of one calendar month’s written notice.

8.2 Monthly fees paid are non-refundable, except where cancellation is due to a prolonged medical condition supported by a doctor’s certificate, in which case requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

8.3 If Little Champ Swim School cancels a lesson for reasons other than a public holiday or scheduled school closure, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a replacement lesson or credit.

9. Missed Lessons

Monthly fees are payable regardless of attendance. Missed lessons are not refunded or credited. Consistent attendance is strongly encouraged as regular practice is essential for safe progression and water safety skill retention.

11. Transport (Nursery School Programme)

11.1 Transport for the Nursery School Programme is provided by Little Champ Swim School’s dedicated driver, who holds all required licences and valid public driving permits. The vehicle is roadworthiness-certified annually.

11.2 An assistant accompanies all children during every journey. Any changes to transport arrangements must be communicated to us in writing at least 24 hours in advance.

12. Photography and Media

We may take photographs or video footage for marketing, social media, and website use. Your written consent will be requested at registration. You may withdraw consent at any time by notifying us in writing. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 Little Champ Swim School takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of every child in our care. Our instructors hold current CPR and First Aid certification.

13.2 Swimming involves inherent physical risks. To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Little Champ Swim School, its owners, instructors, and staff shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

13.3 We strongly recommend that all children are covered by appropriate medical aid or personal accident insurance.

14. Privacy

By enrolling your child and submitting personal information to us, you consent to the collection and use of that information as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The revised version will be published on our website. Continued participation in our programmes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
